William Penn said, "I expect to pass
this way but once.
If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to anyfellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." Life is fragile. And life is precious.
However, when we are face to face with our own mortality, will
we do what Penn suggests? How do we show our own special
kindness to a fellow being? Hopefully we prepare for the
inevitability of our own passing by keeping our wills and trusts
current, and providing insurances and security for those we may
leave behind. But how do we leave a personal, emotional gift,
from one heart to another? How do you make that event so
penetrating and memorable that it will be on the lips of
generations to follow?
