It's only when we truly know and
understand that we have a limited time on earth -- and that
we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then
begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only
one we had.
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
During our lifetime, we often create traditions in our
relationships with spouses, siblings, children, close family
members or intimate friends. One of the sad effects of our
passing will be the cessation of those traditions. But what
if we could extend that tradition beyond our own existence?
A noted example of this was provided by Jack Benny. Before
he succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 1974, Mr. Benny
arranged for flowers, specifically a single long-stemmed
rose, to be delivered to his widowed wife, Mary Livingstone,
every day for the rest of her life. For nine years she
received the gift and legacy of her loving husband, until
her death in 1983.
What traditions have you created? Perhaps there is a cabin
in the mountains or a beach retreat where you go as a couple
every year for an anniversary or vacation. Maybe you have
given flowers of a particular variety or quantity on your
special days. Or was it a simple box of chocolates, or a
special bottle of wine that you enjoyed together? Do you
have a close group of friends with whom you spend your
quality times……………………..visiting galleries, fishing,
traveling, golfing, or whatever. These are the events that
have bonded you together. Now you have a way to allow them
to continue.
These unexpected gifts are designed to be given at the time
of your choosing, after your passing. My Hidden Legacy is
able to facilitate any gift, large or small, and the gifts
may be a one-time-only event or occur annually for any
number of years that you designate. Upon notification of
your passing, My Hidden Legacy will make the requested
arrangements and deliver the gifts at their special, chosen
times.
Imagine the face of your spouse, for example, when the
doorbell rings and there is a dozen roses waiting there,
sent by you. Imagine your buddies when they learn you are
sending them to your favorite fly-fishing spot on the
Madison River. Imagine the profound impact of that moment
when that gift is given, seemingly Heaven Sent.
